SOLAR POWER - Grid Tie Systems

Eco Alternative Energy also offers Grid Tie Systems allowing you to send the power you produce into the power grid via either the Standard Offer Program or Net Metering.

STANDARD OFFER PROGRAM

Developed by The Ontario Power Authority (OPA) as an incentive for property and business owners, the Standard Offer Program allows the Solar Power Generator (that’s you) to sell electricity to their Local Distribution Company (LDC) at 42 cents per kWh. That is about 7 times what most Ontarians are paying for electricity. It is a 20 year, transferable contract with a guaranteed 42 cents / kWh rate for the term of the contract.

NET METERING

Net Metering allows you to use the Solar Power you generate. Any excess power you produce will be automatically directed into the grid. You won’t get paid for this power. Instead, it will cause your meter to slow down or even spin backwards thereby reducing your bill and perhaps producing a credit (depending on how much power you are producing) on your hydro bill.

The following Grid Tie Systems do not include a battery backup component. Pricing is based on a roof-mounted system. Pricing is for equipment only. Installation and taxes are extra. All installations include processing of Standard Offer or Net Metering applications and an Electrical Safety Inspection. Annual kWh production is estimated.
