What is solar thermal?
Solar thermal harnesses the radiation of the sun to heat
water or air for a variety of uses including domestic hot
water, pool heating, radiant floor heating, and space
heating. Solar thermal has evolved to become one of the
most effective “green” technologies available
for businesses, institutions, homes and any facility that
use hot water and/or heat. Heating uses a lot of energy;
in fact 20 to 30% of residential energy consumption is
attributed to hot water heating. Solar water heating can
reduce that cost by approximately 50%, saving, an average
of $450.00 per year.
